Anatomy

The hair follicle beings at the hair bulb.

The bulb is surrounded by a sheath called the Matrix which protects the follicle

The thickest areas of the Matrix, above the above, is called Bulge.

The Bulge of the hair, and the shaft, are the areas that contain melanocytes( pigment cells).

The Bulge also contains thr stell cells that cause regeneration. 

So the Bulge& Bulb of the hair, and the vessels are the tragets during the hair remobal procedures.

Hair phrases

Anagen 

Active growth; Hair contains melanin; Can last 3-6 months on body and 5-7 years on the head.
Many Follicles that do notcurrently grow hair, may eventually due to the additin of androgen hormones or the decrease in estrogen hormones.

Catagen
Hair begins the shed; Cell division   stops and the lower portion of the follicle is reabsorbed by the surrounding cells.  Last 3 weeks.

Telogen
The remainder of the shaft falls out; Last 2-3 months.
